International Women’s Day (March 8) celebrates womanhood, their social, economic, cultural, political achievements and significant contributions of women to society. It is an event held around the world to commemorate the struggle for women’s rights and emphasizing the importance of gender equality.

Women have come a long way in their struggle for equality. This year, the theme for International Women’s Day, March 8, 2020 by the United Nations is, “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights.” The Generation Equality campaign is bringing together people of every gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion and country, to drive actions that will create the gender-equal world we all deserve.

The campaign theme for IWD 2020 is #EachforEqual. Equality is not a women’s issue, it is a business issue. An equal world is an enabled world.

It is time to speak out and stand up for women’s rights! We can empower each other and support women everywhere who are mobilizing for an equal future.

Let us join women in solidarity for a fairer world …

– To eliminate bias / discrimination.

– To break stereotypes.

– To challenge gender norms.

– To reject the binary.

– To celebrate diversity.

– To empower each other.

– To mobilize.

– To take action.

Here’s to all women coming together throughout the world across nations, cultures, ages, industries and sectors, who strive unceasingly and take action together, paving the way forward and ensuring better lives for future generations.

May the glory and glamour of womanhood be abundantly bestowed upon you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the things you do.
